Customer and industry engagement
Workshops improve collaboration and development
We continued our programme of stakeholder engagement workshops involving customers, trade associations and NGOs and gained further valuable feedback. Two sessions were held during the year. The first was held at our cement works at Ketton in Rutland. The second was in London and included a visit to our Kings Cross cement and aggregates depots, and ready-mixed concrete plant. Among topics discussed were how business information modelling (BIM) can improve decision making, carbon offsetting, and vulnerable road user safety.
Feedback from both events was again positive. Jane Thornback from the Construction Products Association said: “The content and style of workshops was well balanced and encouraged input from the wealth of knowledge and experience within the room.”
We also supported an initiative by The Concrete Centre to promote the whole-life CO2 performance of concrete buildings and to increase awareness of the benefits of concrete and masonry.
